In 1985, Michael Palson founded Glide-Lock on a single belief: the way the building products industry sold to homeowners and trade professionals was broken. Inflated prices. Sluggish service. Sales reps who didn't know the difference between a Shaker door and a slim Shaker profile. He wanted to build a company that did the opposite of everything that frustrated him about the industry, and four decades later, that's exactly what Glide-Lock has become.

What started as a one-man operation manufacturing cabinets, vinyl siding, and windows out of a single facility has grown into a national wholesale brand with 17 mobile showrooms, 7 warehouses, and customers in 7 countries. But the things that matter most haven't changed since day one. Same owner. Same family running the company. Same factory turning out the same level of craftsmanship that started this whole thing.

We're not a private equity rollup. We're not a brand that got flipped three times in the last decade. We're not a faceless distributor where you call a 1-800 number and pray someone picks up. When a dealer in Florida or a contractor in Iowa or a builder in New York calls Glide-Lock, they get a real person, often the same person they spoke to last week, last month, last year. That's why so many of our dealers have been with us for 7 years, 13 years, even 30 years. They know who's responsible. So do we.

Michael's background runs deeper than most people in the industry. He's installed thousands of squares of siding, hung windows, set cabinets, framed walls, and built homes from the foundation up with his own hands. He's sold direct to homeowners, sold business-to-business, trained installers, designed kitchens, and run the operations side of multiple manufacturing facilities. That hands-on background shapes everything Glide-Lock builds. Cabinets that install faster because someone who's actually installed them designed the box. Doors and drawers with hardware ratings the field will actually trust. Color and style options that match what dealers are being asked for, not what a corporate marketing team thinks should sell.

That's been our internal mission statement since the beginning, and it still shows up in every decision we make. The kitchen is where life happens. Where families gather. Where friends linger. Where Sunday breakfasts and late-night conversations and birthday cakes and first dates all play out. We don't take it lightly that our cabinets become the backbone of those moments for the people who buy them. Every door panel, hinge, drawer slide, and finish that leaves our factory has been engineered to outlast the home it goes into, and to look as good in year 30 as it did the day it shipped.

Today Glide-Lock is a national brand and wholesale distributor of kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, luxury vinyl plank flooring, wood range hoods, and custom cabinetry. We supply dealers, contractors, builders, developers, multifamily operators, and hospitality renovators. We ship same week. We answer the phone. We back our cabinets and vanities with a lifetime transferable warranty, the only one in the industry, transferable to the next owner if the home sells.

But the part of this business we're most proud of isn't the volume, the warehouses, or the export numbers. It's the relationships. The contractor in Virginia who's bought from us for 7 years because we made it possible for him to undercut his bigger competitors. The Florida couple who sent their friends to us after we exceeded their expectations on a remodel. The Iowa remodeler who's been with us since 2004 and built his entire business model on our pricing. The Kansas City dealer whose installers won't work with anyone else's product. These are not testimonials we manufactured.
